SAMPLE TWO-WEEK PRACTICE GUIDE

Listening, speaking and little everyday wins

Learn together in the live workshop, then use the next two weeks to try the skill in familiar moments.

Usually 5–10 minutes at a time. Try an activity on a day that suits you. Repeat, adapt or rest as needed.

Week 1 · Listen and explain

Day 1

Notice a conversation

Listen to a short family conversation. Notice one thing that made it easy to understand.

Day 2

The dinner detective

Ask a family member about a good moment in their day. Listen, then repeat one detail and ask a follow-up question.

Day 3

The mystery object

Choose a familiar object. Give three clear clues and let someone at home guess it.

Day 4

Teach a tiny skill

Explain how to play a game or do a simple task in three steps. Ask which step was clearest.

Day 5

Ask one more question

In a conversation with someone you know, ask one follow-up question instead of immediately telling your own story.

Day 6

The three-sentence idea

Share a favourite idea: what it is, why you like it and one example. Pause between sentences.

Day 7

Choose your favourite

Repeat an activity you enjoyed, or take a rest day. Notice one thing that felt easier.

Week 2 · Use it in everyday moments

Day 8

A story in one minute

Tell a real or imaginary story with a beginning, middle and end. Ask your listener what they remember.

Day 9

Listen, then check

Ask a trusted family member about something they learned. Say, “Did I understand you correctly?” and check one detail.

Day 10

Take turns

Choose a book, game or snack with a family member. Each person shares a reason before you decide together.

Day 11

Make a clear request

Ask someone you know for help with a small task. Explain what you need, ask politely and say thank you.

Day 12

Try the clues again

Repeat the mystery-object game. This time change any clue that confused your listener.

Day 13

The two-way interview

Take turns with a family member asking about favourite hobbies. Build your next question from their last answer.

Day 14

One moment to bring back

Choose one activity or discovery to share at the next live session. Think of one question you would like to ask.

A small role for parents

Join in when convenient. Notice a specific effort: “You asked a thoughtful question” or “Your example helped me understand.” Let your child choose which activity to repeat. No scores, comparison with other children or compulsory recording is needed.

Your educator shares this guide with one parent update after the live session. Families use it independently; children bring a moment or question back to the next live class. If there is a longer calendar gap, repeat a favourite activity.
